WWE officials are reportedly making a strong effort to bring former Diva Stacy Keibler back to the company as an on-air performer. We noted last month that Stephanie McMahon saw Stacy while she was in New York City at a VH1 Blitz concert. Stephanie told a fan on Twitter that Stacy looked the best she ever has.
Word is that Stephanie and Stacy met for 15-20 minutes. While Stacy has been reluctant to return in the past, apparently WWE’s latest offer to her is lucrative enough that she must be giving it serious consideration.
News came out this week that Stephanie was trying to lock in a big name for this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony and speculation now is that name is Keibler.
Report: WWE in Talks with Former Diva About a Return
Could former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler be on the verge of returning to WWE? One recent report indicates that the company is certainly very interested in bringing her back.
Stephanie McMahon had previously mentioned meeting Keibler backstage at a recent VH1 event in New York.
Over at ProWrestling.net, Jason Powell confirms the whisperings that the company was keen to bring back Keibler, saying, “WWE is making a strong effort to bring Stacy Keibler back as an on-air performer.”
Powell goes on to asses the chances of the two parties reaching an agreement:
Stacy is said to have been reluctant to return in the past because it could be perceived as a step backwards, but one source stated that the offer WWE made is lucrative enough that she has to be giving it serious consideration.
Keibler worked for WWE from 2001 to 2006, departing soon after her memorable stint on hit reality show Dancing with the Stars to pursue other options, mainly in acting.
Sans the odd guest spot on Chuck and How I Met Your Mother, her acting career never truly took off, which was a shame, but probably not too surprising. Women like Chyna and Rena “Sable” Lesnar also tried their hand at acting in their post-WWE lives, with the same lukewarm results.
But the former Nitro girl was thrust into the spotlight when she famously dated Hollywood star George Clooney for two years.
No doubt WWE may feel Keibler, due to the extensive media exposure she has had over the past couple of years, is guaranteed to have a great deal more mainstream appeal than most of the other women they could sign.
It is quite easy to see her fitting in well on E! show Total Divas.
But, really, is Keibler willing to sign up for the hectic road schedule once again? Is she still keen to make it as a serious actress in Hollywood? And does WWE need yet another Diva who looks great but can barely wrestle or take bumps?

I'll disagree with her barely being able to take bumps, she is one of a very few divas to been dudley bombed through a table and on that subject if the late Mae Young can do that in her 80's or 90's then there isn't a excuse for more of the crap divas don't do
