The really interesting thing with regards to the Beetles is Apple. Apple records holds the trademark or whatever on the logo which is the same logo Apple computers uses, so needless to say there were some issues when Apple Computers launched iTunes.

Most bands/singers pre-1990's don't own the rights to their music, I think since the raise of internet and the whole dyi concept more acts own the rights to their music. I do know that one of the biggest bands Metallica owns the rights to their catalog.

I just got schooled in my lack of knowlage of Prince and The Time.  Your very knowadgeable Moon.  Yeah I have all of the Times cd's prob my fav group from that era.  Espcially their 2nd cd.  That has a lot of good hits. Yeah it seems Prince is very stingy with his rights over songs ect. Sad they had to change their band name just because of him. But still same music more or less.

Again we're discussing the guy who changed his name from Prince to symbol that I don't think anybody could pronounce because of issue with his record label.

Yep seems Moon knows his stuff on that front.

I've got all of the Tool disks, still waiting for the new one but since there are or have been issues earliest might be next year.
